Tamra-طمره

Tamra was an ancient village on a hill close to Nazareth.

Before 1948, Tamra had a population of around 1,800 Palestinians, they farmed a variety of things from wheat, cotton, and barley. On may 20 1948, the “Israeli” occupation forces expelled and forcibly displaced the people of Tamra, their land was stolen and is owned by “Israeli authorities” and they have given it to farming cooperatives.

After 1948, many Palestinians from nearby villages such as al-Birwa or al-Damun seeked shelter and refuge in Tamra. Tamra is now recognized as an “Arab” city under the zionist entity since 1996.
